Parent Teacher Evening

 Parent/Teacher Evening

2nd September  6.00pm - 7.00pm On Site
This year we will hopefully be going back to onsite events as much as possible starting next Friday with our parent teacher conference, so a chance to get to know other families and your childs teachers, face to face. The agenda will be an overview of the school year for your grade and for you to choose the class representatives. So please come along and we look forward to seeing you all there. We will have limited child care spots available for parents of siblings where parents would like to attend a meeting in each class. Please do use other child care arrangements if you can. Please click here to register. Covid precautions
We will have distancing in place, so for each meeting -  please only one parent per family to allow us space to do so. The vast majority of people have been triple vaccinated which is one of the big reasons why we feel now is the time to move back to a more normal life. If you have not been vaccinated though and plan to attend, please let the office know if you have any concerns

Creating Essential Agreements

As the first few days of the school are focused on getting the children settled to their new environment: new teacher, new classmates, new classroom, we tried to build in the routine and make it as part of their habit.

Our routine includes 5-minute prep time in the morning (hang the bag, go to toilet, wash hands, drink water and bring in resources or homework if there is any). This will be trimmed down to 3 minutes by third term.

Lining up in two groups following shortest to tallest arrangement.

Choosing class responsibilities and making sure to do them well.

Last but not the least, collaboratively making a set of essential agreements that will guide us in how we should behave inside the school.

FIRST DAY in FIRST GRADE

 Welcome to Grade 1!

It is our first day together. We got to know each other and introduced ourselves to our teacher and new class member.❤️

We had a mission to do and that is to perform for the Enrollment Party where the new Preschoolers will receive their cones. We need to practise for this. 😍

We also started with self-management skills looking at organizing as a sub skill. We need to ensure that our cubbies and school stationery are neatly kept and placed in our boxes and our tables and chairs neatly wiped. It is a bit challenging but we will get better eventually. ⭐️
